  Car Accident Leads To Shocking Hemp Discovery At  Akatsi.

A vehicle suspected to be transporting large parcels of Indian hemp was involved in a road accident late Monday evening at Akatsi, in the volta region around 9:55pm.
    The municipal chief Executive of Akatsi south , Mr Daniel Dagbah together with the police impounded a Toyata Venza private vehicle allegedly loaded with Indian hemp.
This was after the vehicle was involved in an accident at the Monome bypass junction at Akatsi.
Upon inspection, local residents and bystanders discovered multiple parcels believed to contain Indian hemp.
The black coloured vehicle with different registration numbers GS 234 - 17  and GC 7258 - 13 somersaulted and later landed in a near by bush after it was alleged to have been chased by some security officers.
      Mr Dagba who rushed to the scene disclosed that the vehicle contained large amount of Indian hemp after a search was conducted.
He later said the accident vehicle upon a search had compressed leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The car was then towed to the Akatsi police station for further investigation.
The chairman told the Ghana Agency (GNA) that the compressed leaves involved 378 small size, 43 flat - type  and 87 big size pieces packed in sacks.
The driver according to the Akatsi police is still at large. The police said efforts are underway to arrest him.
A team from the volta Regional police command has since taken custody of the retrieved load for further action.
